 Muzzles, Moments, and Memories is a heartfelt initiative by HIKE, designed to enrich the lives of elderly residents in care homes through the comforting presence of animals. This program seeks to bring joy, companionship, and meaningful interactions to our senior community by connecting them with our animal friends.

The primary objective of Muzzles, Moments, and Memories by HIKE is to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals by:

• Providing opportunities for animal interaction to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
• Stimulating reminiscence and storytelling through shared experiences with animals.
• Promoting physical activity and mental engagement through interaction with animals.
• Creating memorable and joyful moments that uplift spirits and foster connections.

This unique program combines basic horsemanship and husbandry training at HIKE with the gentling and bonding process with a wild BLM mustang at Operation Remount. Through this collaborative journey, participants will find personal growth, resilience, and renewed purpose alongside their equine partners.

• Provide a supportive environment for veterans and first responders to learn horsemanship and husbandry skills.
• Foster a deep bond and partnership between participants and a wild BLM mustang through the gentling process.
• Support personal growth, resilience, and empowerment through shared experiences, challenges, and successes with their mustang partners.
• Empower participants to apply the skills and lessons learned from their time with the mustangs to their daily lives and ongoing personal development.

Coffee, Cake, and Critters is a supportive and community-building initiative b HIKE, designed to bring together groups of people who share a common life experience, such as cancer survivors, single moms, etc., for meaningful connections and shared conversations. This program offers a comfortable and welcoming environment where participants can meet, share experiences, and find mutual support, all while enjoying coffee, cake, and the company of our friendly animals.

The primary objective of Coffee, Cake, and Critters by HIKE is to:

• Provide a platform for individuals with shared experiences to connect, share stories, and offer mutual support.
• Create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere facilitated by coffee, cake, and the comforting presence of animals.
• Bridge potential awkwardness or initial hesitation with the natural ice-breaking effect of interacting with animals.
• Foster a sense of community and belonging among participants through shared conversations and connections.
